Wynne-Jones IP to Host Pan-European Intellectual Property Conference in Oxford Next Month

Wynne-Jones IP are delighted to be hosting the first in-person pan-European AIPEX Cross-Country meeting in Oxford next month, where more than 80 intellectual property experts from across Europe will come together for the first time since before the Covid19 pandemic. AIPEX BV comprises a network of IP specialists from the UK, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Norway and Spain harnessing more than 4,000 years of experience and expertise in intellectual property services.

The network, whose head office is in the World Trade Center, Rotterdam, meet each year for an annual two-day conference in a member firm country. In 2019, the group met in Majorca, Spain but the Covid19 pandemic, country lockdowns throughout Europe and travel restrictions have meant that AIPEX have been unable to meet in-person for more than two years. Wynne-Jones IP, a shareholder in the company, with offices in London, Cardiff, Gloucester and Telford, are now delighted to be welcoming colleagues from across Europe to the historic city of Oxford for the two-day conference and Gala Dinner.

Guests will arrive on Tuesday 14th June for the event that will be held at the Voco Oxford Thames Hotel. The group will reconnect over various presentations, brainstorming sessions and working groups. Additionally, the 2022 conference holds a special significance in the history of AIPEX as it marks the retirement of founder and CEO Frank Reijnen and welcomes incoming CEO Rob Davey.

Since it’s formation 12 years ago, Frank has grown AIPEX into a group of more than 500 professionals working together across more than 90 diverse market sectors. AIPEX has gone from strength-to-strength and continues to grow with specialist expertise in energy, IT and telecommunications. After announcing his planned retirement, Frank worked with the Supervisory Board to source his replacement and the AIPEX group are thrilled to welcome Rob Davey to the helm. Rob brings with him 23 years’ experience in intellectual property and has held senior roles at some of the largest players in the IP sector. For many, this AIPEX CC meeting will be an opportunity for long established colleagues to say raise a glass with Frank and meet Rob for the first time.

The conference closes on Thursday 16th June marked by a spectacular Gala Dinner to be held at the world-famous Ashmolean Museum. Guests will be transported from the hotel along the River Thames by private charter before being received for a drink’s reception in the Atrium of the museum. Following this, the member firms of the AIPEX network will dine in the sculpture gallery of the museum. As a shareholder, and a founding member, of the group Wynne-Jones IP are very proud to be hosting this event, welcoming colleagues from across Europe and showcasing magnificent Oxford.
