Victor Caddy MA, MITMA
Victor is a Trade Mark Attorney Litigator.
He has over twenty years of commercial experience, working in London, Manchester, Leeds, York, Cheltenham and Cardiff with trade mark owners in all walks of life and interests around the world.
He is an exam-qualified member of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys, and has been awarded a Trade Mark and Design Litigation Certificate by the Institute, in conjunction with Nottingham Law School. He is also a member of the European Communities Trade Mark Association, the International Trademark Association, and the brand owners' association, Marques.
Amongst cases with which he has been involved are Al-Bassam and Genklene before the UK Intellectual Property Office, Echinace and Allpay before the Court of First Instance of the European Union (General Court) and Halifax Building Society v Halifax Insurance Company, Henlys windcreens (comparative advertising) and AdApt v General Motors in the High Court. Prior to joining the trade mark profession, he obtained a First Class MA in Natural Sciences from Clare College, Cambridge, and undertook four years postgraduate research under the supervision of Richard Dawkins at Jesus College, Oxford.
His leisure interests include rowing, swimming, photography, music, garden design and the theatre. As a (slightly) trained bass-baritone, he was formerly a member of Tewkesbury Abbey Choir and has sung in many charitable fund-raising events.
