Brian Dunlop BSc, CPA, EPA, MITMA

Brian became a partner in 1984 and now has a wide ranging practice extending from retailing to breathalysers and from shock absorbers to silicon chip manufacture. He has represented clients at Hearings at the European Patent Office and also has an increasing amount of work from the United States making a number of visits during recent years to maintain those contacts. He also has developed a significant Trade Mark practice and has maintained this interest throughout. He has given talks to Oregon and Chicago practitioners, as well as supporting the Patent Office in a number of road shows. He is a member of the CIPA Trade Marks Committee

Brian read Physics at Exeter University and joined Boult, Wade & Tennant in London on graduating in 1973. While he was there he qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney and acted for British and overseas clients large and small. In 1980 he joined Wynne-Jones, Lainé & James attracted by the personal service which can only be given to clients working in a smaller practice.

He is married, with two grown-up children. He has acquired a cottage by the sea and occasionally works from there to achieve long weekends. He also coaches badminton.

Brian is a Chartered Patent Attorney, a European Patent Attorney, a Registered Trade Mark Attorney, a member of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys and a Community Trade Mark Attorney.
