Jayne Nation BSc, PhD

Jayne is a recent addition to Wynne-Jones, Laine & James, having joined the firm as Practice Director in March 2007. In addition to responsibility for day-to-day operational management, she has overall responsibility for strategic planning, practice development, HR development, and the implementation of management best practice within the firm.

Jayne read Chemistry at Birmingham University, graduating in 1987, and was sponsored by BP Chemicals to obtain a PhD in the field of homogeneous catalysis in 1990. She then joined Unilever Research, first as a scientist, then as project leader and then as programme leader. Her final appointment in Unilever was as Research Director of Household Cleaning, with global responsibility for famous-name brands such as Domestos and CIF. It was at this time that she and one of her teams were awarded the prestigious Unilever Team Award for outstanding teamwork and leadership in innovation.

Since leaving Unilever Jayne has put her senior management and business training to good use and runs her own successful management consulting business, alongside her responsibilities to Wynne-Jones Laine & James.

Jayne is married and enjoys numerous hobbies when she can find the time! Birdwatching, hiking, vegetable growing and circuit training are amongst her favourites.
