Will Newell BSc, CPA, EPA, RTMA
Will became a partner in 1991 and handles a wide range of technology including digital electronics, aerospace technology, medical devices, various aspects of biotechnology and general mechanical subject matter.
Will read Mechanical Engineering at Bristol University and joined Sanderson & Co in Colchester on graduating in 1977. He joined the Corporate Patent Department of British Aerospace in Weybridge in 1980 and qualified as Chartered Patent Attorney in 1982 (receiving the Gill Prize for the highest marks in the finals) and as a European Patent Attorney in 1985. After appointment to Divisional Patents manager in British Aerospace he spent a couple of years with D Young & Co in London dealing mainly with electronics and aerospace technology before feeling the pull westwards and joining Wynne-Jones, Lainé & James in 1988.
He is married with two children at university and his outside interests include mountain biking, DIY, and walking.
Will is a Chartered Patent Attorney, a European Patent Attorney, a Registered Trade Mark Attorney, a Community Trade Mark Attorney and a member of the Licensing Executives Society and FICPI.
